OurTide

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 13, 2026  ·  Effective: June 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how OurTide (“OurTide,” the “App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provided by André Navas Rivera, handles information when you use the OurTide mobile application. We built OurTide to be private by design: the information you enter lives on your device, and we do not run accounts, advertising networks, or tracking.

The short version. OurTide has no login and no central user database. Your partner’s name, photo, check-ins, and cycle information are stored locally on your device. We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not track you across apps. A small, limited amount of information is sent to third parties only to make specific features work (generating personalized content and processing your subscription), as described below.

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to your use of the OurTide app on Apple devices. OurTide is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us and we will help you remove any information stored on the device.

2. Information stored on your device

OurTide is designed so that the information you provide stays on your device (using your device’s local storage). This includes:

This information is not transmitted to us and is not stored on our servers. If you delete a profile within the app or uninstall the app, the associated data stored on your device is removed.

Information about another person. OurTide helps you support a partner, so you may enter information about them. You are responsible for the information you record about other people. We encourage you to make your partner aware that you are using the app and to record only information they are comfortable with you keeping.

3. Information shared with third parties to provide features

To deliver certain features, limited information is sent to the third-party services listed below. We only share what is needed for that feature to function.

ServiceWhat is sharedWhy
OpenAI, L.L.C. De-identified check-in patterns and cycle context (no name, photo, or contact details) To generate personalized quiz situations tailored to the patterns you record. Requests are not used to identify you, and OurTide does not send your partner’s name or photo to this service.
Apple (App Store / StoreKit) Purchase and subscription transactions To sell and manage auto-renewable subscriptions and to restore purchases. Payment and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple; we never receive your full payment-card details.

Each of these providers processes information under its own privacy policy. We do not control and are not responsible for those third parties’ practices, but we choose providers that allow us to keep OurTide private by design.

4. What we do not do

5. Device permissions

You can change these permissions at any time in your device’s Settings.

6. Health-related information

OurTide records wellness and cycle-related information you choose to enter, and estimates cycle phases from it. This information can be sensitive. It is stored locally on your device as described above. OurTide is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and its estimates are approximate. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.

7. Data retention

Because your content is stored on your device, it is retained until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Transaction records held by Apple are retained under Apple’s policies for as long as needed to provide and account for your subscription.

8. Security

Your content is protected by your device’s built-in protections (such as device passcode and operating-system sandboxing). Information transmitted to the third-party services above is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but keeping data on-device by default reduces the risk of large-scale exposure.

9. Your choices and rights

10. International users

The third-party providers we use may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the app you understand that information shared to enable the features above may be processed in those locations under the providers’ safeguards.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
